PROGRAM DETAILS

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

The Bridge is a sexual risk avoidance program designed to help teens and young adults recognize both the risks of sex outside of one lifelong partner, and the beauty of a healthy marriage relationship, and rethink their attitude about sex. We strive to equip, educate, and empower students by bridging  the gap between what the current media portrays as casual sex and the real value of healthy relationships.

The Bridge Program will teach these different topics by using a wholistic viewpoint. This viewpoint teaches that teen sexual activity affects students physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Our programs are designed to encourage and inspire a lifestyle of healthy choices that will lead to behavior change. We seek to empower all students to lead healthy and productive lives. We encourage students to avoid all high-risk behavior with an emphasis on avoiding sexual risks so those students can stay in school, attain a quality education and begin to focus on their life goals and dreams.

The curriculum that we use in our presentations is called REAL Essentials. REAL Essentials is a curriculum that was created by the Relationship of Education Center. The Relationship of Education Center has trained our presenters in the material as well as gives us the research and data needed for the presentations we give. IN THE CLASSROOM

Our SRA classroom program is character-based education that provides opportunities for youth, from their earliest years, to develop character traits such as having respect for self and others, responsibility, honesty, self-discipline, self-control, integrity, fairness, courage, etc. With these skills and traits, abstinence not only makes sense, but is a truly viable option.

2

SPECIAL EVENTS

With our range of educators and volunteers, we are able to accommodate a wide variety of events such as religious & non-religious youth events, special organization events, summer student programs, health fairs, etc.

TARGETED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Welcomed by school administrators as a positive message for students, The Bridge has taken the SRA message into Hood County schools for decades. Nearly 2500 students hear our sexual risk avoidance message each year, offering a factual and common sense approach to sexuality in the lives of maturing students.
